Southam Community Church – What we believe

We are totally committed to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and to his great commission to go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything he has commanded.

We are a mission-orientated body of people who live to worship, honour, and glorify God. We aim to love and serve one another through committed relationship so that the world may know that we are disciples of Jesus.

We believe in servant leadership and the worship and government of the local church as patterned in the New Testament, and we actively seek to encourage one another and to build each other up.

We believe in the New Birth.

We believe in Water Baptism for all those who have come to Jesus through repentance and faith.

We believe in the Baptism with the Holy Spirit, and see evidenced among us the fruit and gifts of the Holy Spirit.

We believe in the continuing place of Israel in God’s plans.

We believe in the power of prayer and the life-transforming work of the Holy Spirit, and we intercede to see people set free from the bondage of sin and sickness through the prayer of faith in the name of Jesus.

We believe that the earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, and we are committed to living and giving generously.

We are a Bible-based, Christ-centred dynamic community and we are committed to the teaching and preaching of God’s Word, preparing God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.
